HOW TO TURN LEAD INTO GOLD - pure gold  /  01-11-2011 /

This is the step-by-step of how i did the gold bar. I used 1 Kg of lead scavenged on a x-ray machine /// voici les étapes de création du lingot d'or, en utilisant le plomb comme matière première. Avec le cours de l'or ces jours-ci, me voilà riche!

Les trois images suivantes montrent le moule, fabriqué avec du carton mousse /// then, liquid plaster is poured into the mold to obtain the basic "bullion" shape. this shape is about to be carved.

Carving process. The text was printed on paper then "reported" on the cast.

Here, i used latex to create a flexible negative print. (not shown : liquid wax was then poured into the latex mold to re-create a melting-positive object. This positive wax object was then dipped into liquid plaster. This wax-plaster apparatus was then placed in a domestic oven to blow the wax away, creating a negative ready to receive liquid lead)

The raw lead. about two kilos which is about to be melted /// deux rondelles de plomb, lesquelles atteignent un peu plus d'un kilo

Only few minutes after, the lead began to melt. Very exciting.

My son, helping me out.

The lead into the mold, boiling the excess of wax.

The beauty is out!, a pure lead bullion, weighting a little more than a kilo. I then used powder coating technique to cover it with gold particle /// le lingot hors de son moule. En parfait état. J'ai utilisé ensuite le "powder coating" pour l'enduire de particules d'or cuites.
